Rules & Regulations for Parents, Teachers and Students
1. Classes are conducted between 1:30pm until 5:00pm on School Days

2. Family, for registration purpose, is considered to be Parents and children under 18, or older if full time students (proof required).
3. Food and drinks are not permissible in classrooms
4. Teachers and students are expected to assemble in the classroom promptly on time for the start of each scheduled class.
5. A minimum of 75% attendance is required for the student to qualify for a course certificate. Each course might have a different attendance requirement – in that case, course curriculum will state the requirement.
6. Students who miss 3 consecutive scheduled classes without any notification can be removed from course enrolment.
7. Students who are planning a vacation or have fallen ill are to inform their respective teachers of the situation via contacting their teacher in person, over the phone, or leaving a message on SILPA’s voicemail at: 403.280.5110.
8. Students are expected to complete homework given by teachers. Homework is provided to ensure that students learn the course material being taught and is essential for students learning.
9. Parent-Teacher meeting will be held in February, 2012.
***Parents are strongly encouraged to attend this meeting***
10. Parents are responsible to drop and pick up their children from the school venue BUT are not allowed to sit in class with their children unless they register and pay fees for the class.
11. During break between classes, students are not allowed to leave the school premises and are expected to return to class in time after the break.
12. All members / participants are advised to obtain their personal insurance as SILPA is not liable for any injuries arising from and during these activities.
13. All members/students are required to observe strict rules of care and respect for the rented facility and fellow members / students. In case of poor weather (i.e. snowstorm) there may be a school closure. Please call our telephone number (403.280.5110) and listen to the updated message, after 10:30am on Sundays to find out if school is in session for the day or not.
14. Additional courses / activities may be added depending on demand and availability of teachers / resources. Alternatively some planned courses / activities may be cancelled for the same reasons.
15. Each registered family is expected to perform 4 hours of volunteer service at SILPA over the course of the school year (excluding the Final Day Programme). Each family will be contacted with volunteering opportunities at a later time.
